Photo Competition

As part of our 50th Anniversary celebrations in 2024, we are holding a Photo Competition. Send in your photos of the centre, a celebration or any other memories you have caught on camera at our community centre.

Terms and conditions of Waterlooville Area Community Foundation CIO (WACA)  50th Anniversary Photo Competition 2024

These terms and conditions govern the Waterlooville Community Centre 50th Anniversary Photo Competition 2024. The competition organisers are WACA. By accepting the terms and conditions of the competition  and subsequently submitting your images, you have entered into an agreement with WACA.

The organisers reserve the right to modify these terms and conditions without notice.

Competition Entry

You agree that if you are the winner you will take part in and cooperate with reasonable publicity and to the use of your name and photo in such publicity.

By entering the competition, you agree to the provisions of these terms and conditions and to comply with them fully.

The competition is open to everyone with the exception of anyone directly involved in the competition and judging. Trustees and members of staff are excluded from the competition.

All entrants must be over 18 years of age.

The closing date is Friday 14th June 2024 at midday. All submissions after the closing date will not be accepted. Please note that sending is not proof of receipt.

The organisers cannot be held responsible for emails that do not arrive due to the entrant’s email security settings or restrictions placed on their internet service provider.

Your entry must be submitted digitally to the email address – with the title of the email – entry to WACA photo competition. Alternatively, we can accept photographs at reception between the hours of 9 am to 3 pm, Monday to Friday.

By submitting images to the WACA 50th Anniversary Photo Competition 2024 each entrant confirms and warrants that :

  • they are the sole author of each entry and that it is their original work;
  • they own the copyright and any other intellectual property rights of each image;
  • they have the permission of anyone pictured in the image (or, where the image shows any persons under 18, the consent of their parent/guardian) for the usage rights required by WACA and will indemnify WACA against any claims made by any third parties in respect of such infringement;
  • they have not licensed or disposed of any rights in the image that would conflict with uses to be made by WACA;
  • as long as full credit is given to the image owner.
  • WACA have permission to use the imagery provided across their marketing channels

WACA will not accept any responsibility for the loss or damage to any photographs submitted.  It will return the submitted photograph or image back to the owner after Saturday 22nd June 2024 providing a pre-paid envelope is provided for this purpose, with the correct postage paid.  Each image must be labelled with the name and address of the person submitting the image.  WACA will not accept any liability for any image lost or damaged in the postal system.

Photographs will be displayed around the centre prior to and including Saturday 22nd June 2024 and will form part of the Open Day.

What to enter:

We can accept photos via email (must be a minimum of 1MB – maximum 5MB file) or in person. Alternatively, photographs must be a minimum of 6 x 4 inches to a maximum of A3 size.

A maximum of two entries per person will be allowed.


A panel of judges will select the image that they feel most encompasses the energy and philosophy of the centre. The winner informed by email or phone.  The judges decision will be final.


Winner will receive a £25.00 (twenty five pounds) Marks and Spencer’s Voucher, this is not transferrable and there is no cash alternative. Winning photo will be posted on Social media as the competition winner along with the name of the winner.
